چکیده

We have detected circumstellar absorption lines of the CN and CN Violet and Red System in the spectrum of the post-AGB star HD 56126. From a synthetic spectrum analysis, we derive a Doppler broadening parameter of b = 0.51 ± 0.04 km s, CN/CN= 38±2, and a lower limit of 2000 on CN/CN and CN/CN. A simple chemical model has been computed of the circumstellar shell surrounding HD 56126 that takes into account the gas-phase ion-molecule reaction between CN and C. From this we infer that this reaction leads to isotopic fractionation of CN. Taking into account the isotopic exchange reaction and the observed CN/CN we find C/C∼ 67 (for Tkin = 25 K). Our analysis suggests that CN has a somewhat higher rotational temperature than CN: Trot = 11.5± 0.6 and 8.0± 0.6 K respectively. We identify possible causes for this difference in excitation temperature, among which the N ′′ dependence of the isotopic exchange reaction. Subject headings: line: identification – molecular data – molecular processes – stars: AGB and post-AGB – stars: circumstellar matter– individual stars: HD 56126

First-principles calculations of equilibrium silicon isotope fractionation among mantle minerals

Silicon isotope fractionation factors for mantle silicate minerals, including olivine, wadsleyite, ringwoodite, pyroxenes, garnet (pyrope), majorite, and Mg-perovskite, are calculated using density functional theory. Our results show that equilibrium fractionations of Si isotopes are negligible among pyroxenes, olivine, and pyrope, but are significant between olivine and its polymorphs (wadsley...

The C/c Isotope Gradient Derived from Millimeter Transitions of Cn: the Case for Galactic Chemical Evolution

New measurements of C/C ratios in Galactic molecular clouds have been conducted using the N 1⁄4 1 ! 0 transition of the CN radical. This species is unique in that it has extensive hyperfine structure that can be accurately used to correct for line saturation effects. Combined with the past observations of Savage and coworkers, the ratios derived from CN are the most extensive data set to date f...

Anomalous nitrogen isotope ratio in comets.

High-resolution spectra of the CN B2 summation operator +-X2 summation operator + (0,0) band at 390 nanometers yield isotopic ratios for comets C/1995 O1 (Hale-Bopp) and C/2000 WM1 (LINEAR) as follows: 165 +/- 40 and 115 +/- 20 for 12C/13C, 140 +/- 35 and 140 +/- 30 for 14N/15N. Our N isotopic measurements are lower than the terrestrial 14N/15N = 272 and the ratio for Hale-Bopp from measurement...

کارایی روش شماره منحنی رواناب (CN- SCS ) در برآورد رواناب در حوزه آبخیز تهم چای، شمال غرب زنجان

The Soil Conservation Service Curve Number (SCS-CN) method is widely used for predicting direct runoff from rainfall events. The ratio of initial abstraction (λ=Ia/S) to maximum potential retention (S) was assumed in its original development to be equal to 0.2 (λ=Ia/S=0.2) in SCS-CN method. Application of the initial abstraction ratio equal to 0.2 out of the area where it has been developed may...

The cn/cn dwarf mouse. Histomorphometric, ultrastructural, and radiographic study in mutants corresponding to human acromesomelic dysplasia Maroteaux type (AMDM)

BACKGROUND The cn/cn dwarf mouse is caused by a loss-of-function mutation in the natriuretic peptide receptor 2 (NPR-2) gene which helps positively regulate endochondral longitudinal bone growth. The gene mutation corresponds to that in the human skeletal dysplasia Acromesomelic Dysplasia Maroteaux type (AMDM). This study assesses histomorphometric, ultrastructural and radiographic correlates o...
